From Obergurgl centre you walk to the end of the village. From there you follow the walking path direction Zirbenwald (stone pine forest). Through the wood you pass the Rotmoos waterfall. Afterwards you follow the gravel path direction Rotmoostal valley. At the entrance of the valley you turn left and follow the mountain path to the Hohe Mut (hut).

Author’s recommendation

Along the Rotmoostal valley up to the Rotmoos glacier (stamp site) and from there back over the Hohe Mut saddle to the Hut. (approx. 1,5 hours longer).

From Obergurgl centre you walk to the end of the village. From there you follow the walking path direction Zirbenwald (stone pine forest). Through the wood you pass the Rotmoos waterfall. Public transport

Enjoy a both comfortable and relaxing train ride to the train station in Ötztal Bahnhof. You get off the train in ÖTZTAL Bahnhof where you change to a public bus or local taxi. The current bus schedule can be found at: http://fahrplan.vvt.at
