Suitable equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, wind, rain and sun protection, hat and gloves is required for all walks and tours. The transport of a first aid package, a mobile phone and possibly a hiking map is recommended.
You start at the parking Stiegele. From there, the forest road is relatively flat starting and then rising until the first bend. The road often runs parallel to the ski slope. After several bends you first reach the Alpengasthof Sonneck, from there it's leisurely to the Gaislachalm and then to the Silbertal.
The descent is the same route as the ascent.
