Between an Atlantic high and low air pressure over Scandinavia our area is affected by a heavy longer-lasting north-westerly current throughout this week. Frontal systems will be directed to our area with this current. A first cold front on Monday night will only provide for little fresh snow. Instead of this, a short period of significantly improved conditions is expected on Tuesday and rather cold wintry air will reach us again. Cloudy conditions will prevail again on Wednesday, however, precipitation is hardly expected. An overly weather-determining frontal system will hit us, but not until Wednesday night, it will result in heavy snowfall until into Friday. Large amounts of fresh snow will reach the valleys for the first time this year. The upcoming weekend promises slightly improved conditions, however, a significant weather improvement is still not expected.
