When children's hearts beat faster

Längenfeld is a paradise for children that appreciate adventure and play opportunities. These playgrounds are loved by children. Tip: make a cycling tour to check out the playgrounds Winkelbergsee.

Lake Winklberg See Water park

Natural Playground

Winklberg lake is a small natural gem amidst an unspoilt mountain-forest area.

A one-hour hike starting in the hamlet of Winklen brings you to the small moor lake.

Having arrived at Winklbergsee lake you can enjoy watching the lovingly-made waterwheels at the feeder brook. A high seat is located on a boulder; there is also a forest slide for children. It is an idyllic place for the whole family.

Starting from the parking lot in Winklen / Au near Längenfeld, follow the road in the direction of Winklen to the Rätselweg signpost. The path leads through meadows at the beginning, then straight into dense forest where granite boulders as high as houses are. Although the massive rock fall was 10,000 years ago, the traces are still clearly visible today. The geology is explained in a child-friendly way along the path. A walkable witch house should not be missing in a "fairytale forest".

Tip: bring your own food and drinks – there are no inns surrounding the lake.
