Hoher Stein Nature Treasure

Every Monday from 11 June to 24 September 2012:

An ancient walking trail covered in moss, leads right across the mythic Tauferberg forest up to Hoher Stein area. You can hardly imagine that this giant rock was part of a majestic 3000 meter high mountain flank on the opposite side of the valley. An immense rockslide happened here some 9500 years ago. The last section to the summit features a natural footpath/ladder. On top you enjoy awe-inspiring vistas of the glacier-topped mountain peaks embedded in wide open pasturelands and deep green forests. Down in the valley you can make out the village basin of Längenfeld which was as well formed by the above mentioned rockslide.

4 Lakes Trail

Every Wednesday from 13 June to 26 September 2012:

Every mountain lake is special, has its own character, its own color and size. The beautiful 4 lakes hike high above Längenfeld starts beyond the treeline with the snow-topped glacier peaks of Stubaital valley as lovely backdrop. You should really concentrate on nature's treasures: in and around the emerald green mountain lakes there is a lot to discover. With a bit of luck you can also watch an ibex at Geigenkamm ridge. During a short Kneipp break you restore new energies for the remaining stage. A wonderful hiking tour for body, soul and mind.
