Hoher Stein Nature Treasure
Every Monday from 11 June to 24 September 2012:An ancient walking trail covered in moss, leads right across the mythic Tauferberg forest up to Hoher Stein area. You can hardly imagine that this giant rock was part of a majestic 3000 meter high mountain flank on the opposite side of the valley. An immense rockslide happened here some 9500 years ago. The last section to the summit features a natural footpath/ladder. On top you enjoy awe-inspiring vistas of the glacier-topped mountain peaks embedded in wide open pasturelands and deep green forests. Down in the valley you can make out the village basin of Längenfeld which was as well formed by the above mentioned rockslide.
